2023-2024

  • Karen Lecky-Springer teaches 30 and 50-minute lessons for beginning to advanced students in a fun, relaxed environment geared to foster positive vocal growth and development. Lessons are tailored to each individual and are fashioned to help each student reach their personal musical goals and created to meet the specific developmental needs that vary with age. Emphasis is placed on a classical vocal technique that will enable each student to sing any style of music with more efficiency and ease. The goal of private voice lessons is to develop well-rounded singers who have a strong vocal technique, compelling and engaging stage presence, and sharp musical knowledge and musicianship skills.

  • WunderKeys lessons are tailored to meet the needs of students ages 3 and up. I use this unique program with preschool and early-elementary (Primer) students who require a more interactive, off-bench approach to learning piano. WunderKeys encourages exploration of the piano in ways that are accessible and appropriate for these age groups (Preschool ages 3-5; Primer ages 5+; Level 1… etc.).

Other piano literatures utilized in the studio are Piano Adventures and Alfred. Literature is dependent upon student age, interest, etc.

  • Karen is available for Private Conducting coaching for professional and aspiring choral/orchestral conductors. Students work on score study techniques, right/left hand independence, rehearsal techniques, and expanding their gestural palate to become a more effective communicator through movement. Lessons are available at both the 30 and 50-minute sessions.

  • Lessons are scheduled Monday-Friday, from 10am-6:00pm. Upon registering for lessons, students reserve a regular weekly appointment.

The studio will be closed the following days during the 2023-2024 School Year:

  • FALL/SPRING Semester

Students will be offered a minimum of 36 lessons throughout the year:

    50-MINUTE ADVANCED SESSIONS

Tuition for 50-minute private lessons is  $2,340 divided into 10 monthly payments of $234. At this price, the student is guaranteed that I will be prepared and present to teach 36 weeks per school year (August 14-May 24).

    30-MINUTE BEGINNING SESSIONS

Tuition for 30-minute private lessons is  $1,404 divided into 10 monthly payments of $140.40. At this price, the student is guaranteed that I will be prepared and present to teach 36 weeks per school year (August 12-May 16).

*New students: August tuition and annual Registration/Materials fee ($25) are due at the time of Registration for fall lessons. Continuing students will put down a registration fee (non-refundable) to hold their spot for the fall by July 1 and August tuition is due August 10, 2024.

**Students may take more than 36 offered throughout the year, at the regular weekly basis rate.

    SUMMER Semester (June-August)*

    50-MINUTE ADVANCED SESSIONS

Lessons are offered in packages of 4 or 6 pre-paid lessons ($260 or $390, respectively)

30-MINUTE BEGINNING SESSIONS lessons offered in packages of 4 or 6 pre-paid lessons ($156 or $234, respectively)

*Students wishing to take the summer off from lessons are required to provide a retainer fee of $100 to hold their spot for the fall. This fee, due June 1st, is non-refundable but will be applied to the student’s first month of lessons upon returning.

  • All students are required to enroll in our secure auto-bill system and as such, require a valid credit card on file. Payment is automatically processed on the 1st of the month. An email notification of the automatic draft will be sent by the system when your card is charged. The studio accepts Visa, Mastercard, Discover, AMEX, and ACH.

Payment is due at the first lesson of the month, or by the 5th if the first lesson is missed for any reason. A $15 late fee will be assessed for unpaid balances on the 10th of each month.

Note: Lesson rates are set for the year (August-July), but are subject to change upon review each summer and are likely to incrementally rise on an annual basis. A 60-day notice of tuition change will be given before going into effect.

  • Because specific times are set aside for each student, a student who does not attend a lesson will simply miss the benefit of that lesson. I will then use that time to plan for the student’s progress and upcoming performances, locate materials, etc. Please be assured that your tuition pays for far more than the time spent with the student. Contact me as soon as possible in cases of illness or emergency. One makeup lesson per semester will be provided when given 24-hour notice. There are no refunds, discounts, or extra makeups given unless I am unable to teach the promised number of lessons.

“Lesson Swap”- As an alternative to missing a lesson, families of private students may trade their lesson time with another student (“Lesson Swap”) to help avoid absences. Families wishing to make their information available for “Lesson Swap” should contact me. A “live” Google document will be made available to students who participate in the Lesson Swap option. Please refer to this document when arranging swaps.

Virtual Lessons- consider this option if unable to meet in person, but still available during your lesson time. These can be arranged with as little as 2 hours’ notice before the scheduled lesson and are run through ZOOM by logging into the STUDIO PORTAL

  • Students should plan to commit to lessons for the full school year. If unforeseen circumstances require a student to terminate lessons mid-year, one month’s paid notice is required to end lessons.

  • From time to time, the Lecky-Springer Music Studio may take photographs, video, and/or audio recordings of students and their families in relation to studio-related activities. The resulting media may be used for display, marketing, website, and internet promotion online and in print. The student’s name, image, likeness, and voice may be used without further consent or payment to the student. Parents wishing to exempt their students from any published media may do so by providing a written exclusion request. Please note that recordings from private one-on-one lessons are ALWAYS kept private and confidential, only to be used for the student’s training and development.
